Well, very ugly picture. Very ugly project. But this is my "cool website"Ugly picture... Is ugly because of its size (I didn't want to resize it; if you are curious about this page, just scroll it down) and so it takes a lot of space.... and they say that the first page sells.(Yes, < br > now and < p > later, on a new paragraph, when talking about the cool website.) Ok, were was I? Oh, yes, the first page...err, I don't give a sh*t on it, because I'm not selling anything. It is just me, Manuel Timita and my silly project about a cool website.
Ok. Now the story: Ok, now I'm back. :D Do you see the separation between the navigation column and the body text? Cool separator for a cool website. Well... the story. The story of the cool website. Which story starts with the ugly project. Starts with NOT using Dreamweaver for any little piece of cr*p I'm going to put online.I can only think about the old guys in the branch, smiling with (understandable) superiority: "Hey, kid, we all did this in the past". Well, my turn now. I'm building the ugly project, only with the cool website in my mind.I'm not dying to exercise my HTML skills (and maybe PHP, later). I'm not dying to deceive the people who are looking for "cool website" over the internet... By the way, guys, why the hell would you use such a query?? "Cool website"?? As of 19th of August, 2008, Wordtracker shows 400 searches for cool websites and only 12 for the singular. I wonder, what those few people were hoping to find. Now, without CSS, AJAX, Flash, without any whizbang and with very few pictures, I'm going to build my ugly project. It's only about experimenting. Just me, Notepad, my FTP software and... you, Google, SCREW YOU! I'm new in SEO. One may say that SEO is bullsh*t. I disagree. SEO blogs and forums are bullsh*t. I agree. Now I'm going to see how difficult is to rank for some fairly competitive queries, without any link building. Just plain HTML, content and relevancy...At this moment I have only one inbound link, enough to get my website indexed by SEs (by the way, Google didn't even need a link...). Relevancy?? I wonder what some of the people looking for cool website would say about the relevancy of this page.... "Cool website" is just one stupid query, found in Wordtracker. Can I rank competitively for it? We'll see. By the way, I don't even use Google Analytics for this cool website (well, is just a cool page at the moment). All I need are my server logs. A cool website is first about experimenting, so, before driving you nuts by spamming "cool website" to death, tell me: were you searching for this type of cool website??Ok, guys, sorry for being deceptive. You are looking for a cool website, some Web 2.0 crap, I understand. Cool design, cool css, cool Flash, interactivity; I use them all for my other websites. This is MY COOL WEBSITE and it'll stay like this. For anything else, visit Cool Site of The Day. Published: 19.08.2008 PS: Well, I just discovered that I have to use a few PHP lines, just to build a more webmaster-friendly navigation. You know the statement... include() (yeah, one might say to use read() instead). This isn't a tutorial; need to know more? Go to PHP.net. The image above has been downloaded from ClipProject.
